Hi, my name is Bobby Santos and I am a Mangager/Partner with Horizon Foods, Inc. of Houston, Texas.
Sixteen years ago I found myself looking at newspaper ads like most of you are doing today. I had little experience in sales, but a lot of experience at working hard! I was an Operations Manager for a large company that had changed ownership. I found that my value with that company had left with the previous owner.
Vowing to never put myself in that type of situation again, I went out and started my own business! Not having a lot of money to get started with, I started out small. Slowly, my business grew and I found myself working 7 days a week and 16 hours a day! The work was rewarding but not the pay! Everyone else was getting paid, except me. Eventually I had no choice but to close the business. I realized that I truly enjoyed working for myself but lacked the support and capital it takes to get a business off the ground.
I reluctantly started looking at the job listing in the newspaper and ran across a sales management opportunity. The ad read "Fire Your Boss!" I had to call and see what the opportunity was about. I scheduled an interview that day.
My interview went great! I was immediately invited for a 2nd interview the next day. I met with sales reps and Managers and got a great sense of the spirit of the Company. Next I met with old clients and new clients and realized the potential of this business. Finally, I was able to actually see that $70,000/year was not only realistic but also average for 1st year sales reps.
I was so excited I couldnt sleep that night. I went the next day for the training program and started several days later!
To make a long story short, I made 78k my 1st year with Horizon Foods and advanced myself into a Management position! After my 2nd year, I was promoted to a Management position with no glass ceiling in my way. I have grown with the company for the past 16 years and it still excites me to tell this story!
Over the years I have noticed that there is a glaring profile for successful sales reps. and managers within the company.

Control is something most people dont have with their profession. Most people are told when to work and have to punch a clock and ask for time off. Compensation increases have to be negotiated for and are stressful for both parties. Residuals are often scaled down or non-existent for sales professionals who cold call for a living!
When asked, most sales professionals inevitably will tell you money is the most important criteria in deciding on a sales career. I submit to you that freedom is the single most important issue. Money doesnt create happiness. Money creates freedom and freedom ultimately gives you happiness.

Take 290 West to Antoine/34th Street exit. Make the U-Turn and stay on the feeder road. Continue approximately 1 mile. Turn Right onto Mitchelldale. We are the first one story business park on the left. We are on the corner of Central Park and Mitchelldale.
From Beltway 8
Take 290 East and exit Antoine/34th Street. Stay on the feeder road and go thru 2 lights (First is Antoine, Second is 34th). Once you pass Acadamy and shopping on the left, Mitchelldale is the first road on the right. Turn Right and we are the first one story complex on the left. We are on the corner of Central Park and Mitchelldale.
